Of course. Good thinking. (or, limited thinking on my part)
Would be interested to hear if anyone has more details.

Hi Phil,
I think that's just the drop down menu being shown (human readable), for selection.
Key is what's being stored (which is probably the short form).   But I'm just guessing here.

Hi Nuno,
    Thanks for flagging!

Introduction: SPDX Report Library

Mark Gisi

I would like to announce the availability of the SPDX Report Library. The objective of this program is to create a repository of articles to capture and share community knowledge about anything and everything SPDX. For example, this knowledge base covers a diverse collection of topics including (but not limited to): technical issues, best practices, relevant legal topics, tool proposals, adoption strategies and analysis, license compliance considerations and position papers.

The business working group would like to encourage the SPDX community (producers and users) to consider sharing their ideas, positions, best practices, and experiences as an SPDX Report. A description of the program can be found here:

     http://wiki.spdx.org/view/SPDXReports

Currently the library includes three reports found here:

       http://wiki.spdx.org/view/SPDXReports2014

Feedback and submissions can be sent to: press@...

best,

- Mark

Hi Sameer,

I'm happy to see a new release, the improvements are good.

I like the LQI acronym/concept as I've also been using a similar graphical license indicator as seen on http://www.triplecheck.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/triplecheck-tool-2014-06-02.png

Perhaps you wouldn't mind if I also adopt the same acronym for this kind of metric?

Some feedback:
- The graphs look very big on a desktop browser, perhaps the page was designed for tablet browsing?
- On the "Flags" tab one sees Documentation files including .png images.
Perhaps the correct flag would be "Images"?

If there is a bug tracker somewhere, perhaps I can post these items there.

btw. I find the "Meta Information Files" tab very useful as a quick reference to know where to look inside the package.

Very useful tool, thanks for sharing.

With kind regards,
Nuno Brito

On behalf of the SPDX Legal Team, I’m thrilled to announce that SPDX License List v1.20 is now live.  You can find the updated web pages in the usual spot, http://spdx.org/licenses/, which also includes a link to the “raw” master files on Git.

This release includes the largest number of new licenses - 91 added to be exact - that we’ve ever done and represents some tireless (and sometimes tedious) work on the part of the SPDX Legal Team.  The majority of the licenses added are from a review of the Fedora license list (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing:Main?rd=Licensing#Good_Licenses) to identify licenses on Fedora’s list that were not on the SPDX License List.  In the future, we will post a short identifier conversion table to map where the SPDX short identifiers and Fedora short identifiers differ.  Formatting has also been improved for the license text to appear more consistent and readable on the web pages.

As always, if anyone catches any errors or omissions, please let us know (but perhaps, wait a couple days to give everyone a chance to celebrate first :)

Here’s to all the hard work and a total of 306 licenses!!

Cheers!

And, by the way, this is some of the value of the SPDX license list. When
other URLs change or go away, you can still find the license at the
permanent SPDX URL.

Hi Vlada,

The SPDX-Legal team mailing list would be the exact proper place to
report anything having to do with the SPDX License List, but this will do
too!

The links in the url/source field on the SPDX License List do tend to
change from time to time and we try to keep them active, but staying on
top of that is not always entirely possible. For this particular
license, there is always the active link to the OSI site, so we can
probably remove the first link, since, as you point out, it no longer
takes one to the license.

Thanks,

Hi,

(I'm not sure this is the proper place to report; please, CC me in the
answers.)

the first link in http://spdx.org/licenses/CDDL-1.0 is broken, and it
looks like a permanent breakage.
