As far as I can recall they have not been looked at. Someone on the legal team who maintains the list may have a better idea. Do you have links to some of the files so we can look at

This is not my experience at all. In the Binary Analysis Tool I use fingerprinting using string constants, function names, variable names, and so on, and I can reliably tell versions of binaries
