Good catch. According to our guidelines and explanations of the various fields (http://spdx.org/spdx-license-list/license-list-overview#fields
) regarding “version” “v” or nothing, we have:
- The word "version" is not spelled out; "v" or nothing is used to indicate license version (for space reasons)
I looked through most of them and it doesn’t seem like there’s a strong inclination for “version” and hence the need for using the “v”
this did cause me to realize that the links are not working to the external sites, though, so will fix that!!

In looking at the SPDX-LL exceptions (http://spdx.org/licenses/preview/exceptions-index.html
) I see that none of the full names prefix the version with 'v'. It's a minor point, but I'd just like to check whether this is expected or not. For what it's worth,
I am personally happy with the full name without the 'v' as consider it superfluous, but I also note that the main license list does use the 'v' in a lot of cases. It might depend on the individual exception and whether it uses the term 'version' itself; the
GCC runtime library exception 3.1 (http://spdx.org/licenses/preview/GCC-exception-3.1.html
) is an example where the exception text refers to itself as "version 3.1".
